Khiramisu: People who say you can't be sexist towards men make me laugh.

cynners-haven:

locsgirl:

cynners-haven:

Because the double standard of, Cry and you’re weak, You’re a guy you cant get raped/assaulted. you’re a man you cant be a victim of spousal abuse/domestic violence. Bull fucking shit. Yeah, it might not be as common. But it still fucking happens. NEWSFLASH….

everyone isnt going through the same shit.

but the point is EVERYONE is going through shit.

Doesn’t matter what kind it is, problems are problems.

Puerto rican male, a flamboyant flamer. Coming from very racist white neighborhoods and very homophobic family/area.

NO WHERE in my post did I say or insinuate that we ALL go through the same exact shit, because I will NEVER know the extent of someone elses pain until I’ve lived their life.

But the point I attempted to make that it seems was lost to the conclusion of “male trying to say they suffer, must be an arrogant white male who is unable to differentiate between others struggles”, is that White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Jew, Gay, Straight, Atheist, Christian, regardless of WHO or WHAT you are, chances are you’ve struggled. The fact that people have to sit around with screams of an individual subset of HUMAN makes me sad.

Instead of fixing the way we treat one subset why not just treat everyone like a fucking HUMAN, a fucking PERSON.

When there’s a conversation about a specific actual struggle, it should stay about a specific actual struggle. It shouldn’t be derailed for the purpose of including every single person who has ever struggled with a thing.

If I’m talking about racial profiling and how Black people are wrongfully detained or killed by law enforcement officers, the conversation shouldn’t be derailed into “this black guy said white people can’t dance”.

If I’m talking about how I, a woman, walked home with keys in my hand in case a man tried to rape me, the conversation shouldn’t derail into “well men get raped toooo” (which is a super vague response)

You wanna treat everyone like a fucking person? Then you need to start with the groups of people who’ve spent centuries being treated subhuman. Believe me, it can only benefit everyone.

Black people, who make up 22% of the poor, receive 14% of government benefits. White people, who make up 42% of the poor, receive 69% of government benefits.

notesonascandal:

theraceproblem:

racismschool:

Just so we’re all clear on what we just read. Black people make up 22% of the poor but only 14% of the government benefits. Meaning, 8% of poor Black people are not taking government benefits when they need them.

While, white people make up 42% of the poor but receive 69% of the government benefits. Meaning, there are white people who are classified as middle class who are receiving government benefits.

…but welfare queens and stuff.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!

Black people make up 22% of the poor BUT only 14% of the government benefits.

White people make up 42% of the poor BUT receive 69% of the government benefits.

This needs to go viral.

This is essential piece of information revealing racial bias AGAINST Black people in receiving government benefits.

Never again do I want to hear about White people living in poverty.

Never again do I want to hear about Black people living on government benefits.

Reblog this. Over and over again. POST IT ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA SITE WHERE YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT.

killallcars:

and tbh if someone of colour calls you out on something you’ve done as racist, apologise!!!!! don’t!!! make excuses or justify it ok cause if you’re white you don’t know what you’re talking about

make sure you never make the same mistake again and learn from it!! for god’s sake it’s really not hard to say sorry and gradually become a less shitty person

Diastematic Woman: Why Reverse Racism Doesn't Exist

racism-education:

Let’s start out simple with this post.

Haven’t we all heard it before?

-“I got bullied in school for being white. You can’t tell me that’s not racist!” No, this is called you being picked on by a mean child.

-“Someone called me cracker!” This is someone calling you by…

Sick and Tired by Shihan.

agreed.

Does that put it into perspective for you?

Seriously. I always have to try to put this into perspective for people. People act like slavery was so distant. My mom is older in relation to my age (she had me at 43), and her father was older when she was born (in his early 50’s) and was born in the late 1800’s. One of his PARENTS was born into slavery. For people like my mom, this isn’t the least bit distant. My mom grew up in the Jim Crow south. History is so depersonalized that people can act like slavery, Jim Crow, and blatantly racist institutions existed in 1800 BC

I have an aunt who died in 02 who was born in 1898.

I’d LOVE for someone to have told her that slavery was “long ago”.

My mother was born in 1956.. My grandmother in 1937.. My great grandparents in 1919… My great great granddad in the 1890’s and his parents who were born just shy of slavery…. All of these people were alive when my mother was younger… And my great great granddad died when I was 4! So please tell me how long ago slavery was again??

My grand mother was a sharecropper’s daughter….Who do you think her parents were the children of?

amen

My great grandmother was a sharecropper. She told me before she passed away (at 92.. long life!) that they used to pick cotton and farm.
